Erectile dysfunction: Viagra and other oral medications

 Erectile Dysfunction overview

Oral drugs are those that are administered orally. They are frequently the first line of treatment for erectile dysfunction, which is the inability to obtain or maintain an erection. Oral ED medications are usually effective and have little negative effects.

The four main medications taken orally for erectile dysfunction are:

Avanafil (stendra).
Sildenafil (viagra).
Cialis (tadalafil).
Vardenafil.

These drugs are known as PDE5 inhibitors. They improve the effects of nitric oxide, a substance produced by the body that relaxes penile muscles. This increases blood flow and helps you achieve an erection during sexual activity.

How oral medications vary

Each oral erectile dysfunction medication has a somewhat distinct chemical makeup. These minor variances influence how each prescription works, including how quickly it takes action and wears off, as well as the potential negative effects. Your doctor or other health care expert can prescribe one based on these criteria, as well as any other health concerns you may have and medications you are already taking. Awesome.

Sildenafil (viagra). This medication works best when taken on an empty stomach one hour before intercourse. Following a high-fat meal or alcohol use, the body absorbs it more slowly. Its effects typically last 4 to 5 hours. It may last longer if you have mild to moderate erectile dysfunction.

Vardenafil. This medication also works best when taken one hour before intercourse on an empty stomach. A high-fat meal or alcohol, like sildenafil, slows the body's absorption rate.

Vardenafil typically works for 4 to 5 hours. Its effects may linger longer if you have mild to moderate ED. A newer type of drug that dissolves on the tongue may work faster than a pill that you swallow.

Cialis (tadalafil). This drug can be taken with or without food an hour before intercourse. It can operate for up to 36 hours. You can take a modest dose every day or a larger dose when necessary.

Avanafil (stendra). This medication can be taken with or without food 30 minutes before sex, depending on the dose. It lasts about 4 to 5 hours, or more if you have mild to moderate ED.
All of these medications effectively treat erectile dysfunction. When deciding on one, discuss your preferences with your doctor or other health care expert, such as cost, convenience of use, how long the drug's effects persist, and any negative effects.
